Christmas is a great time to spend with families, enjoy a much-needed break but it is also great to reflect on your career and your current job. Those few days away from the hustle and bustle of every day life can give you some clarity on where it is you want to be.
If you are unhappy in your current role or just simply want to see what is out there – our advice is, get searching! It can be such a time-consuming task scrolling through job boards, researching potential employers, updating your CV and speaking to recruiters while you are unhappy at work and pushed for time (it can all just feel a bit too much). Therefore, whilst you have time to sit on the sofa on your mobile, tablet or laptop – it’s much more relaxed and you can do things at your own pace.
What happens in the recruitment industry in December?
It slows down for multiple reasons.

Companies don’t stop recruiting
Take it from us – with 20 + years combined experience in the Recruitment Industry we know – companies don’t stop recruitment. It becomes less of an urgency over the Christmas period as decision makers are squeezing in left over annual leave, rushing to get orders out but recruiting top talent is still high on their priority list. New budgets, projects, orders, locations are on the horizon – use employers recruitment hunger to your advantage.
Scrap the new year, new you.
Get a head start – rather than thinking of a million things you want to achieve in 2023 think about what is important to you right now. As individuals we set the bar way too high for ourselves and then get disappointed when we don’t achieve the unrealistic expectations we have.
